Mirjam Neelen

Learning Advisory Manager, Accenture, Ireland

Mirjam Neelen is a Learning Advisory Manager with over 10 years of industry experience, working at companies such as Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Google, the Learnovate Centre, and now Accenture. In her current role, she leads the learning experience design processes across Accenture’s various business entities globally. Mirjam analyses business and performance challenges in close collaboration with her clients and manages the front-end design processes, working with other Accenture Learning teams. She leads virtual design thinking sessions to ensure that learners, clients, and other stakeholders collaborate closely to achieve the best possible results.

Mirjam is a proud advocate for evidence-informed approaches to learning design and has a collaborative blog with professor Paul A. Kirschner. She has worked on a wide variety of projects, including xAPI, competency assessment and analytics, learning experience audits, learning design models, and learning intervention taxonomies. She presents about her work regularly.

In the distant past, she has completed an MSc in Learning Sciences, an MA in Psycholinguistics and a BA in Speech Therapy. She started her career as a Speech Therapist, working with adults with aphasia and children with various neurological disorders.
