Riitta Suominen

Riitta Suominen has worked as an elearning and communications specialist for over 20 years. Since the 1990s, she's focused primarily on the public sector, helping experts and instructors use web-based tools to work more innovatively and efficiently.
Suominen is a popular speaker, writer, and learning designer. She has co-written books like "How to Become an eTeacher in a Week" and "eTeacher". Her latest work, "How Cities Use Twitter," will be published this fall part of an anthology that takes a research-based approach to using Twitter. This article stemmed from her ongoing dissertation project, which deals with public sector online communications.
In addition to training, Suominen runs consultancy specializing in elearning and online communications. She is an active participant in the Association of Finnish Non-Fiction Writers. Her OEB2017 presentation is based on her article, "Do Teachers Need Further Education?" which appears next year in the association's New School anthology.
