Marc Oswald

Marc Oswald is co-founder and CEO of Open Assessment Technologies (OAT), and a vocal proponent of interoperability through industry standards. Marc serves as chairman of the IMS Executive Board on Assessment (EBA), which he initiated in early 2015 with the goal to significantly improve the interoperability of assessment content based on the QTI standard. The EBA now counts 23 members, including end-user organizations such as PARCC, Smarter Balanced and the Houston Independent School District, assessment publishers Cito, Pearson and CTB/McGraw-Hill and many other vendors.
Prior to launching OAT, Marc served as entrepreneur in residence for the European research center LIST where he focused on open source software R&D. He further served on the boards of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) and the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) from which he received a lifetime achievement award for his work on solutions interoperability.
