Anja Balanskat

Senior Analyst and Project Manager, EUN Partnership AISBL, Belgium

Anja Balanskat is a senior analyst in the area of policy making, educational innovation and research for ICT in eduation. For more than 10 years, she has managed e-learning education studies and projects and coordinates European Schoolnet's working group on Digital Competence. She was responsible for the coordination and drafting of a European wide study on 1:1 learning in 2012 on behalf of the IPTS and currently manages the Creative Classrooms Lab Project, a first EU project on policy experimentations of tablets in schools. She has extensive experience in qualitative research, implementing pilots in schools and was part of the team of the large scale quantitative study: Survey of Schools: ICT in education. In her work she also acted as an adviser to the European Commission’s ICT cluster and provided input to workshops organised by the OECD on their New Millennium Learner project, EUN’ Steering committee and international conferences. She publishes on a regular basis literature reviews, thematic reports, trend papers and policy briefs.

Previously, Anja advised the European Strategic Management of Universities (ESMU) in European Benchmarking in Higher Education.

Anja holds a Master Degree in Human Resources Development and European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium as well an Undergraduate Secondary Teacher Training Degree (5 years. German title: 1. Staatsexamen) from the Friedrich- Schiller- University of Jena, Germany.
