Interactive Breakout Session SOL39
Smart Universities
Date Friday, Dec 2 Time – RoomKing
Phones, homes, factories and even cities: Devices and whole organizational units are becoming “smarter” through new technologies. It is time for universities to become “smart”, too: New technologies can not only enhance teaching and learning but improve services, open up new models of participation, use their resources more sustainably and enable new options for on-campus research. This session will focus on opportunities and challenges for universities through the use of smart technologies. The first part of the session will highlight a variety of concepts for the “Smart University”. The second part will be devoted to an open panel discussion.
The session is organised by the expert group on new technologies, business models and lifelong learning of Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, a think tank financed by Germany’s federal ministry of education and research, devoted to developing ideas on teaching and learning in higher education in the 21st century.
Amongst others, speakers will include:
Dorthe Skovgaard Lund
