This gathering provides an opportunity for staff from UN, affiliated organizations, universities and development agencies to share recent trends and highlights in capacity development, learning methodologies, approaches and tools, and explore areas of potential collaboration.

Mehmet Korkmaz
Learning and Development Specialist, UNICEF, Denmark
Mehmet Korkmaz is a Learning and Development Specialist with the UNICEF Supply Division and is based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Prior to joining the HR team at UNICEF, he worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome, Italy. He has extensive experience in designing and delivering learning programmes for different target groups and leads the online learning initiatives for the UNICEF Supply Division. Mehmet holds a Master's degree in Sociology and Pedagogy and is specialised in blended learning, e-learning, instructional design, social media, educational technology and knowledge management. He recently delivered comprehensive learning programmes to develop capacities of food security professionals in three regions: Southeast Asia, Western Africa and Eastern/Southern Africa.
Mehmet is a member of the UNeLearn network and engages with various expert groups and online communities to exchange knowledge on good practices and trends in the field of online learning.

Cristina Petracchi
Head of FAO eLearning Unit, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Italy
Cristina Petracchi is heading the e-learning Center in the Capacity Development Unit in FAO, she manages and coordinates the design, development, delivery and language adaptations of e-learning courses, blended learning programmes and face-to-face training events, for the benefit of FAO member countries. Within the context of the position she holds, Ms Petracchi also consolidates partnerships with United Nations agencies, academic institutions and universities, regional organizations, CSOs and NGOs. In addition to a university degree in Biological Sciences, Ms Petracchi holds a PhD in Nutrition and Food Science, and has several years of experience of capacity development activities in India, Ethiopia, Nepal, Namibia, Senegal and Mali. Ms Petracchi is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and has a good knowledge of Arabic.
