This learning café offers the opportunity to reflect on instructional design challenges and best practices under the guidance of facilitators from different institutions. It will allow you to compare and contrast findings from your working environment with others and provides you with practical suggestions and a framework to enhance your teaching practices, based on principles and examples of effective learning design.

Sarah Grund and Sara Thornes are Academic Instructional Designers in the Distance Learning Team at Leeds Becket University. They have worked in Higher Education for over 10 years and have extensive experience in pedagogical design, online learning, web design and project management.
As Academic Instructional Designers they work with faculties and services to create and actively promote a robust and supportive structure for the development and delivery of high quality, flexible, innovative and accessible online courses. These provide an excellent experience to Distance Learners - by engaging, motivating and empowering both academics and students.
