Beyond the Illusion of Competence: Teaching and Assessing Critical Judgment in the AI-Enabled Classroom
This session explores how generative AI is transforming translation education and why higher education must move beyond viewing AI as either a threat or a shortcut. Drawing on practical classroom experience, it presents an educational framework that helps students develop critical AI literacy, strengthen translation competence, and collaborate effectively with AI while maintaining academic integrity and human expertise.
