Student success – defined holistically as an institution’s ability to retain and graduate students in a timely manner while preparing them for the workforce or postgraduate study – is one of the most pressing challenges facing higher education globally. Yet, for all its importance, securing student success has proven persistently difficult.
This interactive workshop debuts Silo Smashers: The Student Success Game, a board game that blends systems thinking, strategy, and fun to help higher education professionals reflect on the collaborative nature of student success and the constraints and choices institutions face. Participants will actively play a full round of the game, reflect on insights from play, and leave with ideas on how their institutions can improve student success. Participants will also receive a copy of the game.
