Sónia Hetzner is the Managing Director of the Innovation in Learning Institute (ILI) at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). An experienced E-Learning Instructional Designer and multimedia author, she spearheads the coordination, development, and quality assurance of multimedia and e-learning projects for higher education. Her passion and expertise focus on integrating the latest educational technologies into university teaching and education in general. Additionally, she trains higher education professionals, leveraging her extensive experience to design innovative learning media and integrate them into holistic training and teaching activities.

Markus Tischner
Head of Media Production, Friedrich-Alexander University, Innovation in Learning Institute
Markus Tischner is a seasoned filmmaker, learning expert, and trainer with a filmmaking career spanning over more than 15 years since 2008. Specializing in educational media and science communication films, he brings knowledge to life.
Besides his freelance work, Markus leads media production at the Innovation in Learning Institute (ILI) at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). Beyond creating educational and scientific media, he teaches on media production in the master's program "Learning Design" and trains university staff in science communication and production of educational media.
With a background in geography, focusing on soil geography and high mountain ecology, alongside geology and biology, Markus has a deep understanding of scientific topics. With his experience as journalist, he excels at making them accessible and engaging for the targeted audience.
Since 2022, Markus has been integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into higher education and media production, pushing the boundaries of innovation in learning, always weighing challenges and opportunities.
