How To
Prototype Your Inter-Institutional Interactive Hybrid Classroom with CHARM-EU
Date Friday, Nov 24 Time – RoomCheck
CHARM-EU is a European initiative that pushes the boundaries of inter-institutional education as it offers a Master's program on global challenges for sustainability that leads to a shared degree of five European universities. The program is challenge-based and emphasizes collaborations with partners from business and society.
Because delivering synchronous modules across multiple European universities is a challenge, CHARM-EU has designed and set up interactive hybrid classrooms that can be used both locally and remotely. These classrooms allow students and teachers from different universities to learn, teach, and collaborate together - in class, virtually, or in a combination. A wide range of educational activities is possible - plenary activities, focused teamwork, meetings with smaller groups, including matching student teams with nonacademic partners for real-world challenges.
In this practical workshop, participants will work in teams to create their own low-fidelity prototype classroom that fosters collaboration with external parties and universities abroad. Along the road, the workshop leaders will share the challenges they encountered and provide insights from two years of development designing the CHARM-EU classrooms.
This session will offer a unique and interactive look behind the scenes of the design of the single most important part of technology used to facilitate all this: The interactive hybrid classroom.
