Education Futures with Students: Co-Create Your University’s Digital Transformation Vision Bringing All Stakeholders to the Table

This Learning Café will provide actionable strategies for co-creating a digital transformation vision in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by involving all stakeholders, including students, in decision-making processes. Based on recent research and case studies, participants will gain insights into the experience of students who have developed futures scenarios with eleven institutions across Germany.
Join this session to learn how to co-create a vision that fosters collaboration, inclusivity, and collective responsibility, and empowers institutions to navigate the challenges of digital transformation effectively.
Yasmin Djabarian
Head of Innovation Hub & Team Development, Hochschulforum Digitalisierung / Stifterverband, Germany
Dr. Yasmin Djabarian is Head of Innovation Hub & Team Development at Hochschulforum Digitalisierung (German Forum for Higher Education in the Digital Age; abbreviated: HFD) at Stifterverband in Berlin. Here she is responsible for programs to strengthen student participation and participatory, innovative designs of universities through co-creative collaboration processes.
Before joining HFD in 2018, she was a research associate at the Center for Quality Assurance and Development at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. She studied American Studies and Journalism in Mainz, Washington, DC, and Atlanta and completed her PhD in Transnational American Studies in Mainz.
Johannes Schleiss
Researcher, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany
Johannes Schleiss is a researcher at the Artificial Intelligence Lab of Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg. His work focuses on applied and digital educational concepts for AI and the integration of AI technologies in education. He coordinates the development of AI Engineering, a unique study program collaboratively offered by five universities in Saxony-Anhalt. Additionally, Johannes is an associated Research Fellow at KI-Campus, an learning platform for AI, and a PrüfungHochDrei-Fellow for innovative assessment formats. As a DigitalChangeMaker, he contributes to the student Think&Do-Tank at Hochschulforum Digitalisierung, where he helped develop the HFDVision program and other participation formats. Since July 2024, Johannes has been serving as a Future Scout for Generative AI in Higher Education with the Stifterverband. In 2024, he also undertook a research stay at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
