Boardroom Dialogue

Integrating Crisis Learning as Part of Futures Literacy Competencies

Date Thursday, Nov 24  Time   –    Room Queen

Futures literacy is a competency for dealing with uncertainty, responding to rapid changes and anticipating emergence of potentialities. Crises are major events increasingly faced by individuals, groups and societies today and for the projected future. Integrating crisis learning as part of building futures literacy competencies is valuable for enhancing preparedness and crisis responses.

This Boardroom Dialogue will discuss the importance of heightening knowledge on the dynamics and nature of crisis. The importance of both learning and unlearning will be emphasized, in terms of how to best adapt to uncertainity and apply agency, resources and tools to influence and shape crisis-resilient futures.

Outcomes

  • A high-level introduction to futures literacy and foresight practice.
  • A case-study on crisis learning using foresight methodology.
  • A flexible and practical approach for supporting crisis learning in different contexts
