RNLI - Moving Emergency Service Training Online During a Crisis

This year has forced a change in the method and delivery of our Command training, moving from traditional face-to-face only methods, we have redesigned our important Command programme to a more blended format. So now only our essential practical elements of Command training are face-to-face. Condensing time at the RNLI College for essential afloat training to enable the Command programme to only require 4 days at the RNLI College and the 5th day of training content is now online either in the form of webinars with our Lifeboat Trainers and supplemented with eLearning on our Learning Management System. When it comes to training crews in the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea in our Command programme, we worked collaboratively with our supplier Junction-18 to produce a fully immersive eLearning course, teaching the ‘rules of the road’ to crew.
