Knowledge Sharing and Networking with United Nations Agencies

The session is an opportunity for staff from UN, affiliated organisations, universities, and development agencies to share recent trends and highlights in capacity development, learning methodologies, approaches, and tools, as well as explore areas of potential collaboration. Specific topics that we would like to discuss in this interactive Boardroom Dialogue include the power of collaboration to foster learning and innovation: the FAO case study of the International Hackathon on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); the role of capacity development in the achievements of the SDGs; and certification using online digital badges.
Cristina Petracchi
Head of FAO elearning Center, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) E-Learning Center, Italy
Cristina Petracchi is heading the e-learning Center in the Capacity Development Unit in FAO, she manages and coordinates the design, development, delivery and language adaptations of e-learning courses, blended learning programmes and face-to-face training events, for the benefit of FAO member countries. Within the context of the position she holds, Ms Petracchi also consolidates partnerships with United Nations agencies, academic institutions and universities, regional organizations, CSOs and NGOs. In addition to a university degree in Biological Sciences, Ms Petracchi holds a PhD in Nutrition and Food Science, and has several years of experience of capacity development activities in India, Ethiopia, Nepal, Namibia, Senegal and Mali. Ms Petracchi is fluent in English, French, Italian, Spanish and has a good knowledge of Arabic.
