Ms. Marwa worked for seven years in the ICT field moving up the ladder from being designer and developer to being manager and consultant. After that she made a shift in her career to invest her skills and knowledge in the socio-economic development using ICT as a tool. Both the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology(MCIT) and the United Nations Development Program UNDP-Egypt were interested in her to work at Egypt ICT Trust Fund (ICT-TF) - a mechanism created between the MCIT and the UNDP to promote the use of ICT in development- as a Partnerships in Development Deputy Director.
Through her work in the development field she contributed to designing several ICT4D initiatives. She stands behind attracting investments from international organizations, establishing development partnerships, and the promotion of concerted national efforts to implement many developmental initiatives that support literacy, education, Arabic e-content, health, women empowerment, youth employment, and enabling persons with disabilities.
She has also contributed in promoting Egypt ICT Trust Fund’s projects and best practices worldwide, many of which have won awards such as awarded such as the World Summit Award, Stockholm Challenge, and UAE Educational IT challenge, The Arab e-content Award, E-India Award and Pan Arab Web Award.
