Stimulating Educational Innovation; a Balancing Act!
Jan Haarhuis is an Educationalist. Since 2014 he is leading the University-wide programme Educate-it that supports teachers as they future-proof and enhance their teaching practice. Educate-it helps teachers to innovate their teaching practice by incorporating Blended Learning and using the available IT tools to engage students and clear the logjams that obstruct effective teaching. A big part of the Educate-it goal is to increase awareness and acknowledgement of cultural and organizational change and gives specific attention to quality and research as a driver for educational change.
In 2016, Jan received the Dutch Change maker SURF education award in the category ICT and Education Professionals.
Jan Haarhuis chairs the thematic group Digital Education of the League of European Research Intensive Universities (LERU). The thematic group organized a successful blended Digital Higher Education Summit in November 2018.

Stimulating Educational Innovation; a Balancing Act!
Drs. Mabelle Hernández currently is programme managerof the University-wide Educate-it programme (innovation and Technology) and responsible for the implementation of Blended Learning and Educational change at Utrecht University. Before she was programme manager Education and ICT at the Faculty of Humanities.
Intercultural communication and sharing educational experiences and successes always had her interest. She therefore participated as a researcher in 2 projects in the LLL Programme funded by the European Commission: Networked Interaction in Foreign Language Acquisition and Research (2012) and Telecollaboration for intercultural language acquisition (2014).
In 2014 she graduated as a certified mediator. These specific mediator skills are very valuable in her daily work as manager of an innovative educational programme. In 2012 she was involved in setting up the Teaching Academy Utrecht University as an educational advisor and member of the Editorial Board. In all of her roles she actively plays a part in organizing educational change, advising on Academic Development, giving workshops and contributing to (inter)national conferences.

Professional Recognition as a Lever for Enhancing the Quality of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
Dr Natalia Timuș (SFHEA) is the Head of Academic Development and researcher at the Centre for Active Pedagogy & LINE Lab, Université Côte d’Azur, France. She co-manages (together with the University of Northampton) the continuous professional development scheme TRANSFORM - C@N DO in the framework of the Global Partnership between the UCA, the University of Northampton and the Higher Education Academy (now Advance HE, UK).
Natalia oversees academic development initiatives, trainings and resources, as well as international partnerships that promote the enhancement of teaching and learning (University of Northampton and HEA (UK), Université Laval (Quebec, Canada), Griffith University (Australia)).
Her research interests focus on the professionalization of teaching and professional standards and competences (in France and at the European and international levels), as well as the co-creation in teacher learning.

Change Management in European Higher Education through Teachers’ Communities of Practice and Blended Learning: the EIT Digital Model
Frederic Renouard joined the University of Rennes (France) and EIT Digital in 2010 where he created and developed the EIT Digital activities in Brittany. In 2015 he was appointed coordinator of the EIT Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship education for its Master and Doctoral programs across Europe.
Previously, Frederic spent 12 years with Alcatel in various technical and management positions until 2001. He then contributed as co-founder or in various management positions to the creation and/or development of 3 startups in the software and telecommunications industries: Telisma, Open Plug and Trusted Logic.
Frederic likes to bring his dual industrial and academic experience to help transform the European higher education landscape, notably when it comes to European education policies, European universities, change management in higher education and digital transformation, entrepreneurial education.

Michelle Selinger
CEO, ConsultEdu Ltd, UK
Dr Michelle Selinger has extensive experience helping governments and educational institutions around the world in both developed and emerging economies to create and evaluate strategies for technology enhanced education reform. She has an academic background in digital education in both campus-based and distance education.
She was responsible for technology across the curriculum in the Open University’s distance taught initial teacher education programme and led pioneering work on teacher collaboration. She led the Centre for New Technology Research in Education at the University of Warwick, and then took the role of lead education consultant for Cisco Systems Corporate Affairs and then Cisco Consultancy Services.
In 2013 Michelle set up an independent consultancy carrying out research and development work for companies like Intel and Pearson, and for the Queen Rania Foundation, Jordan. Latterly she has worked with the consultancy EdTech Ventures on research for Microsoft and HP Inc.
