Nils Reubke holds a masters degree in Public Policy & Human Development from the United Nations University in Maastricht and has been passionate about driving change within the education sector for more than 10 years. For the past 5 years he has been leading the development of the non-profit social business "Initiative Neues Lernen e.V.", which seeks to empower schools to become active agents of their own change. Nils is also a certified coach and design thinking facilitator, holding seminars not only for schools but also for members of government and non governmental organisation.

Co-creating Education for the 21st Century Through Participatory Design
Merel van der Woude is Creative Director at Butterfly Works, a social design studio pioneering the use of Design Thinking and co-creation within International Development. For the past 20 Butterfly Works has been co-creating innovative education solutions with learners and educators all over the world.
Being a design thinker Merel is an expert in finding out all needs, experiences, knowledge and the specific interest of the actors involved in a project. With her curious mind and friendly approach, she leads co-creation processes all over the world to ensure learners and educators are included in the design and development of new educational programmes, services and materials. She has led the design and development of a wide range of digital and mobile educational materials.
Merel has been a speaker and workshop facilitator for a wide range of events around innovation, education and human centred design.
