Students as Digital Changemakers

Students in this panel are by no means passive consumers of education. Instead, they actively collaborate year round to influence and shape the development of learner-centred digital learning within their higher education institution. Based on a nation-wide survey, they will share their views on topics such as where and how they use digital tools; which tools and methods institutions can consider to better support learners; and, last but not least, how institutions can create more opportunities to involve learners in the process of digitisation.

Willi Weisflog

Willi developed educational and student support programs as Head of Curriculum and Student Support Manager at Kiron, a digital platform that enables refugess to access quality education. He currently pursues his Master's degree in Psychology at Humboldt University in Berlin with a focus on Political Psychology and Social Cohesion. Next to his studies he works as a student assistant at Hochschulforum Digitalisierung (HFD). In this capacity, he coordinates the publication of a nation-wide survey on the use of digital tools in German Higher Education.

Onur Karademir

Onur Karademir is a M.Sc. Computer Science student at the Goethe University Frankfurt. He is working on several EdTech Projects as a software developer and coordinator. Together with his team, he is developing a Data Driven Quiz App with Gamification-Elements which is used by over 1000 students.
Moreover he initiated MEGA, a network of students who work on interdisciplinary Elearning Projects with the aim to accelerate the Bottom-Up process at Universities.
Leonie Ackermann

Leonie Ackermann is currently enrolled in the master programme Computing in the Humanities. After completing their bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature at Augsburg University in 2017 they were curious about the potential of the digital humanities to create new research tools and opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation.
Parallel to their studies they have been involved in the students’ movement since 2015. In 2017 and 2018 they have represented Germany’s national union of students (fzs) in the European Students’ Union and have gained insight into European higher education politics. Since September 2019 they are part of fzs’s executive committee. Their focus is international higher education politics, quality of teaching and learning, and digitization.
Since October 2019 they are also part of the HFD working group #DigitalChangemaker.
