OEB Global 2017: Thousands to Learn to Cope with Uncertainty
If you’re worried about your answers to these questions, maybe you should join the thousands of education and technology specialists who will be in Berlin this week for OEB Global 2017, Europe’s largest conference on technology assisted learning and training.
The theme of this year’s event, which includes a large exhibition of new teaching and learning solutions, is ‘Learning Uncertainty’ and participants from nearly 100 countries will discuss the likely effect of rapid technological change on education, the workplace and the world.
“The conference will look at how the world is changing and what it means for all of us,” says Rebecca Stromeyer, OEB’s founder. “We’ll be asking how people, businesses, organisations and societies can learn to cope with rapid change and even use it to their advantage. We’ll also be looking at what change means for education and training. The demands of the workplace and employers’ needs will soon be very different from what they are now and this is bound to have a major impact on education. At the same time, technology is changing education, so that it can now offer new solutions that would have been unimaginable only four or five years ago.”
OEB Global 2017 will feature dozens of presentations, workshops and seminars on topics ranging from ‘Futureproofing Higher Education’ to ‘The Future of Work and the Future of Learning’. There will be sessions on ‘Civilisation-level Change in Education,’ ‘The Future Mindset’ and ‘Surviving in an Age of Overload’ among many others with a focus on the implications of the new ‘age of uncertainty.’
Businesses attending the conference will be able to take advantage of a special programme of briefing sessions on subjects, such as ‘Thriving with Learning Uncertainty’ and ‘Key Strategies to Cope with Digital Uncertainty.’
“In many ways, this year’s OEB Global is our most ambitious conference yet,” says Rebecca Stromeyer. “It’s happening at a critical moment when the effects of technology are starting to have a massive impact on institutions, businesses and societies all over the world. Education is the key to coping with this and managing the change successfully. This year’s OEB will be one of the most interesting discussions anywhere on what our new age of uncertainty means for education.”
