Learning Café BUS49
Support for Everyday Learning
Date Friday, Dec 4 Time – RoomTegel
In the workplace we learn not just from the ad hoc learning experiences that have been designed for us (aka training/e-learning) but from everyday work experiences as we carry out our jobs. The role of L&D in supporting everyday learning is therefore quite different from designing and delivering traditional training; it involves working alongside managers, helping team members to extract the learning from the daily work and share what they learn with one another. In this Learning Café session we will consider some of the new ways in which workplace learning professionals can help to support everyday learning.
The Learning Café will operate as follows: Jane Hart will introduce the topic, the questions to be considered, and the Learning Café format and etiquette. After this there will be 3 rounds of discussion, where participants will move around a number of tables set up with questions, and where they will draw/write their ideas on tablecloths. One person will remain as table host to support the discussion
