Forwarding to 2030: The OEB Time Capsule

What should we ‘send forward’ from OEB26 for review and consideration of the learners and educators of 2030? For the final Learning Café of this year’s conference, we will create our own Time Capsule. It will capture your experiences from our ‘interesting’ year of 2026, enriched and interpreted through the many different perspectives at OEB. Once complete, it will be sealed until 2030. We invite you to take part. Bring a small item to place in the box. You will explore the next four years with others and explain what meaning your item might have in 2030—perhaps a hope, an opportunity, a question or a warning. Throughout the conference, make a note of any critically important ‘one-liners’ you hear or brand-new insights you gather, and contribute them to our Time Capsule notebook. Finish your conference by starting your new learning futures.

Professor Salmon is the founder and CEO of Education Alchemists Ltd - formed around her life's work including Carpe Diem learning design, pedagogical transformation, online education, technology-enhanced teaching, the 5 stage model, e-tivities, and Education 4.0. Until recently, Professor of Learning Transformation and pro-vice-chancellor at universities in the UK and Australia, she is now based in London with all workshops offered fully digitally and worldwide.
