Enabling Meaningful Learning: Capacity Building and Digital Credentials
Date Thursday, Nov 23 Time – RoomTegel
E-learning and capacity development are closely intertwined in personal and professional growth. Organisations across various sectors are increasingly adopting digital learning to foster skills and knowledge.
Simultaneously, the integration of digital credentials has redefined how we validate and showcase our competencies, and have become an integral part of e-learning related capacity development in various institutions, enhancing digital learning offers with meaningful outputs.
In this Exhibition Seminar, Andreas Hörfurter from Common Sense will delve into how e-learning serves as a catalyst for capacity development and how the strategic utilisation of digital credentials elevates the value of learning experiences.
He will explore not only the theoretical possibilities but also the practical applications of e-learning and digital credentials, and will illustrate these concepts through two real-world case studies, showcasing the tangible benefits of this synergy:
- The TUI Care Foundation demonstrates how e-learning can empower a global workforce, and why the development of online courses with related digital credentials can be a game-changer. Formal and informal learning can be supplemented with recognition of prior learning and learners are enabled to document the related outcomes, enhancing their career opportunities.
- At the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO), we witness how digital badges are complementing traditional certifications, enriching the learners' portfolio of competencies by adding credentials earned through professional development.
By the end of this presentation, attendees will not only understand the symbiotic relationship between e-learning and digital credentials but also gain actionable insights from the case studies presented.
Session takeaways:
- Understand the synergies between capacity building and the strategic utilisation of digital credentials that enhances learning outcomes, validates acquired skills, and empowers individuals in today's digital-driven world.
- Discover how online interactive courses can be used to reach a diverse target group and enable learning across boundaries.
- Learn how to leverage digital credentials, such as badges and certificates, to validate and showcase your skills in a digital world, enhancing your career prospects and professional recognition.
- Gain actionable insights from real-world case studies that will equip you with the knowledge and strategies to implement and combine e-learning and digital credentials effectively within your own working environment.
