Prof. Dr. Birgit Spies
Dr. Birgit Spies is a professor of education and digitalization at the Fresenius Hochschule in Hamburg, where she has been since 2015. She has received an engineering degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in information technology and a master’s degree (M.A.) in media and education (focus on media psychology) as well as a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in education and psychology (thesis topic: “informal learning in social online networks”) from the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich in 2013. Prof. Spies has more than 20 years of practical experience in the e-learning space as a project manager, trainer, and e-learning developer for large German companies. Her consulting company THINK TIME offers workshops and new learning solutions for companies and organizations in the field of media and e-learning. Her research interests focus on the development and implementation of new education and training concepts, especially in the field of media and e-learning.
