Marzia Baldassari

Marzia Baldassari is the Volunteer Learning Resource Specialist in the United Nations Volunteers programme (UNV), based in Bonn, Germany, where she coordinates and delivers learning initiatives for 6500+ UN Volunteers across the globe through the design, development, delivery of e-learning courses, blended learning programmes and face-to-face training activities.
In her role, she coordinated the development of the first UNV-specific online learning platform, that has grown to approximately 23,000 users in just over 12 months as well as prepared the content for UNV-tailored e-learning courses.
Marzia is passionate about education, learning and training. Her experience varies from the community and voluntary sector to private companies to international organizations in both a paid and voluntary capacity. Originally from Rome, Italy, she has travelled extensively in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East and has developed a strong interest in human development. She believes learning is a key component to any organization as it provides added value for individuals in various shapes of knowledge, skills and attitudes both at personal and professional level.
Within the current position, Marzia is also responsible for outreach and works to expand partnerships on learning with United Nations agencies, learning institutions, and other stakeholders.
Marzia has a keen interest in languages and cultures and is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
