Dr Ismini Vasileiou Associate Professor in Information Systems (FBCS, SFHEA) is holding the roles of: Associate Head for Teaching and Learning and Subject Lead in Information Systems in the School of Computer Science and Informatics at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK. Leading the team on Information Systems, developing cutting edge curriculum giving attention to diverse teaching and assessment.
Dr. Vasileiou's is certified on Social Engineering delivering workshops as and when needed. Her research interests include Social Engineering, Security Education, Information Systems, Big Data and Technology-supported Learning. Holding an EdD in Flexible Learning for Computing Degrees in Higher Education, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Fellow of BCS, Dr Vasileiou is actively involved in academic delivery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as the supervision of BSc, MSc and postgraduate research(PhD). Dr Vasileiou is publishing on topics including flexible learning, security education, and technology-supported delivery, and delivers a variety of invited presentations and keynote talks in relation to topics such as unconscious bias and stereotypes in STEM topics.
She was a successful Athena SWAN lead and has led various policy changes across the institutions. Has worked extensively on Unconscious Bias training material and can deliver it internally and externally as and when needed.
