Discussion and Debate DAT23

Are You Ready for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in May 2018?

Date Thursday, Dec 7 Time   –   RoomCharlottenburg 1

You may already know that all non-EU companies will also have to comply with the GDPR if they have users residing in, or use data from people residing in, the EU member states. Are you aware of further implications of the law change? Personal data security and privacy in education technologies will no doubt become even more of a hot topic with the regulation commencement date looming. How will the GDPR affect learners and students in the EU? What does personal data and security encompass for e-learning providers? How will it affect non-EU e-learning providers with users in the EU? The panel in this session will debate issues related to the GDPR, which will come into force a few months after OEB.
