
Marina Encheva

Marina Encheva graduated in Library and Information Sciences (MA programme) at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ in 2000. She also holds a qualification of English Teacher from the same university (2002). In 2006 Encheva was awarded a PhD degree in Information Retrieval Systems. Her doctoral thesis is entitled ‘Ädaptability of the Models for Distance Learning in Library and Information Sciences through the Internet’. She has been a part-time Assistant professor in Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ since 2007 and a full-time Assistant professor in the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies since 2009 giving lectures and seminars to BA and MA students in E-Learning; E-Resources and Metadata; Business Information Systems; Cataloguing of E-Resources, etc. Encheva has had experience as a librarian at the Centre for Advanced Study in Sofia and as an expert at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria. She has worked on a number of projects co-financed by the EU (as a team member and a coordinator) amongst which: ‘Distance learning in Library and Information Sciences and Print Communications’ (2012-2014), ‘Introduction of electronic management of administrative and information services in recognition of higher education diplomas’ (2009-2011), etc. Since 2004 Marina Encheva is a member of the European Distance and E-Learning Network.
