Federica Oradini

Senior Lecturer eLearning, University of Westminster, UK

I have been working in the UK Higher Education sector since 2005 planning, designing and implementing e-learning and blended learning courses in collaboration with the University’s Faculties, by providing expertise in instructional design and advice on pedagogic and regulatory aspects of online delivery.

I am thrilled to be able to help extend pedagogical innovation in the online space to empower students to think in more sustained and sophisticated ways through collaboration in engaged learning communities. I support professional development for academic staff, conceiving and running staff development seminars and workshops about the use of online platforms and web tools to enhance and support learning and teaching on both blended and distance learning courses. I am passionate about making education more accessible while creating a collaborative, experiential and social experience.

Recently my role has been focusing on transforming learning and teaching through the use of mobile technologies, into practical deliverables, analysing underlying learning practices and devising ways to change them to ensure curriculum delivery becomes aligned to the new vision for learning and teaching across the University. I gather intelligence from across the institution to ensure that a robust and appropriate institutional mobile learning strategy is produced and kept updated and validated against external benchmarking and trends, approved by both academic and corporate services stakeholders.

I have been an e-tutor on a variety of online distance learning courses since 2009. I undertake research into the use of web 2.0 tools in teaching and learning, evaluates and presents case studies concerning the effective use of technology enhanced learning at national and international conferences.
