Peter Alston

Pete works in the School of Life Sciences, providing direction on the use of TEL within the School. With a background in information systems and web development/programming (BSc (Hons) Information Systems; MSc Web Computing), he is currently studying for a PhD in eResearch and Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University. His thesis is focusing on the role of electronic assessment in Higher Education and the implications for policy and practice.
Pete’s previous role was as a Senior Lecturer in Computing at Edge Hill University, contributing to the teaching and project supervision on the Web Systems Development & Teacher Training pathways. He has also worked as a Research Assistant in the Institute of Cognitive Science at University of Colorado (Boulder), USA, working on the development of a Web interface for a system intended for use by social scientists studying climate change.
