Distance Learning Providers today are processing large amounts of participants' data to optimize their services and give/provide the best possible aid/support to their learners. It is expected that learning analytic tools will have an important impact on the learning environments of the future. This workshop will give you some insights in a running learning analytics project of the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and show some attempts to improve learning outcomes through personalisation. The chances to use AI to analyse data and the attempt to improve completion rates are two main aspects to be discussed in the workshop. The third issue is the rising importance of micro-credentials and open educational badges.
Agenda:
• 15 min: Introduction/Welcome
• 45 min: Project Presentation - Assessing and Furthering the Role of Learning Analytics in Vocational Distance Learning with special reference to certain AI tool
