Learning to Love Learning and Building Employee Engagement
Employee engagement and learning to love learning are connected. People will love learning if we can personalise it and match it to basic human needs around Purpose, Growth, Relationship, Fairness. After a very short 5-10 min intro to the subject and what we've been thinking a doing at Citi to connect the two, we will engage the group in a Learning Café exercise where they will speak on how the two connect in their organisation and what do we need to do as a collective to become more skilled in engaging our people to learn and be at their best more often.

Anca Iordache

Anca is the EMEA Head of Social Learning & Collaboration at Citi.
In her everyday work, Anca helps Citi employees and teams across the region become more effective at how they learn and perform. She creates value by enabling better conversations and collaboration at all levels of the organization.
Anca has been with Citi for almost 15 years, and together with her team, she is currently leading the workplace learning evolution, with coaching and collaborative social learning at its heart. (If you are curious to find out more follow Anca on Twitter and explore some of her work on #BeMore).
Anca spends a significant part of her time and energy helping our leaders utilizing new learning and collaboration technologies and platforms, as well as advising on large scale culture and change initiatives.
A Romanian-born, global citizen, she brings listening, curiosity and creativity to everything she does, including raising her two boys, learning, communication and collaboration work at Citi.

Brian Murphy
Head of Learning and Leadership Development, Citi, UK
Brian is the Head of Learning & Leadership for the global bank, Citi, across it's 55 country locations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He leads a team of learning and performance consultants who facilitate learning experiences which drive individual, leadership and organisational performance.
Brian also leads global efforts to develop a culture of continuous workplace learning across Citi’s 200,000 employees in over 100 countries.
In 1999 Brian started his career with Citi in Ireland before moving to the UK. He has held a series of regional HR Director roles where he has led the HR function for various banking divisions within Citigroup.
Brian believes passionately that the L&D profession is at a historical crossroads as the world of work continues to change rapidly. It can choose a traditional approach which is increasingly irrelevant to the ‘real work’, or it can become a key enabler for business performance, innovation and change.
Brian is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and a Fellow of the Learning & Performance Institute.
