Networking and Social Events at Online Educa Berlin

What’s really going on in e-learning around the world? To the over 2,000 professionals expected to attend this year’s conference, Online Educa Berlin will provide clear, explicit answers that can be applied in real life.

You will definitely return home with many new ideas, stories to tell and – even more importantly – many new contacts. Meet like-minded people, exchange ideas, form links with people engaged in similar work or who come from a totally different background, build personal networks – there are plenty opportunities awaiting you.

Thursday

Integrated into the conference programme is the Speed Networking session on Thursday, where you can meet plenty of other Online Educa Berlin participants right at the beginning of the conference. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to meet as many people as possible in the shortest timespan and in a funsetting! You can continue to discuss and dive deeper into specific topics at the Special Interest Group Lunches during lunchtime. Please check the message boards in the registration area to see which themes will be discussed at which table; please don’t forget to reserve your place because tables fill up fast!

Space for facilitated discussions in small groups are offered in the newly introduced Knowledge Exchange Sessions on Thursday afternoon. These are an opportunity for you to share knowledge and ideas about specific projects, to find others who share your interests, to exchange new ideas or future visions, pose questions in order to encourage a discussion or to look for help with a specific problem.

Andrew Keen, author and Internet entrepreneur with challenging thoughts on the next generation of the Internet, will offer a Keynote Follow-Up on Thursday afternoon. You are cordially invited to join this lively and highly interactive discussion session led by our keynote presenter, and you can have your copy of his book The Cult of the Amateur: How Today’s Internet is Killing our Culture autographed on-site.

Thursday evening will close with another highlight: The Online Educa Party in the Pavilion of the Hotel InterContinental. Excellent food prepared by one of Berlin’s finest kitchens, accompanied by a great choice of beverages, will complement the relaxed and enjoyable ambiance. You can meet and chat with old friends and new acquaintances, or even ask that special question you didn’t think quite fit into the afternoon’s session. It will be fun and informal, but networking is certainly on the menu.

A versatile band will provide music that’s great to dance to, but mellow enough to serve as a suitable backdrop for whatever your contacts and you are discussing.

Friday

If you miss out on Thursday’s Special Interest Group Lunches, Friday offers a second chance. Check the message boards in the registration area to see which themes will be discussed at which table and reserve your place.

After the conference closes on Friday afternoon, everyone is welcome to meet, mingle and wind down in the Marlene Bar. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and take the opportunity to chat and network informally with fellow conference delegates.

Saturday

New at this year’s Online Educa Berlin conference is the OEB Networking Breakfast! Get a jump-start on the day by indulging in a hearty meal with fellow OEB delegates.
