HomeNewsJef Staes answers: If diplomas are dead, what next? December 1, 2014 News Two years ago, Jef Staes spearheaded the ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN Debate on the relevance of diplomas; successfully defending the motion that diplomas kill passion and talent. Staes will be returning to OEB this year, bringing with him his educational alternative ‘The Competence Playlist’. In his pre-conference workshop and a conference session, Staes will address the questions: How can we keep up-to-date with information and innovation? Passions of people change, but diplomas are forever, how do we solve this mismatch? How can we create an educational system that offers a more personal learning experience? By introducing a new way of validating competences, Staes offers a solution to several of these crucial dilemmas that educational institutions and organisations are faced with. In the lead up to ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN 2014, we asked the OEB community to ask Staes questions around these topics. In the below video he answers the questions: How can we keep up-to-date with information and innovation? If diplomas are dead, how do I prove my credentials as a young person in a competitive job market? How can we create an educational system that offers a more personal learning experience? Passions of people change, but diplomas are forever. How do we solve this mismatch? Watch the video! Register for the pre-conference workshop on December 3 here. One Response Carlos J.
