Leveraging the Southeast Asia Teachers Competency Framework for Teacher Development in the New Normal
Educators need to continuously develop themselves professionally to thrive in complex and constantly changing education contexts.
Supporting them in doing so around Southeast Asia is the Regional Center for Educational Innovation and Technology. It has developed the Southeast Asia Teachers Competency Framework (SEA-TCF), a common reference guide for improving teacher quality.
Transitioning to remote learning, partnering with parents as facilitators of learning, helping students who mostly have limited access to technology have been just some of the challenges of dealing with COVID. Teachers have needed to develop emotional and psychological scaffolds as well to better navigate these challenges.
We'll share lessons learnt from one of the Center's digital initiatives that will highlight its appraoch to teacher professional development with a special focus on agency and resilience.
