The Fempreneur project, a transformative initiative by atingi, is dedicated to enhancing the digital and financial literacy of rural women in Togo. Implemented through the collaborative efforts of common sense and GOPA Worldwide consultants, along with local stakeholders and women’s savings groups, the project delivers a structured program designed to develop entrepreneurial, financial, and digital skills of women. By fostering community savings groups, like “tontines,” and providing the necessary knowledge, the project aims to unlock the entrepreneurial potential of women, particularly those facing barriers in accessing traditional financial resources, ultimately contributing to their economic empowerment.

Case Study: Women Going Digital \u2013 GIZ and Business Scouts for Development<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Women Going Digital course is an interactive online course on atingi designed to equip women in Africa with essential digital skills. Originally developed in Spanish and Portuguese by GIZ and Business Scouts for Development, common sense adapted and revamped the content in English and French for the African continent. It spans 16 diverse topics, encompassing digitalization’s basics and exploring emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain. It offers a flexible learning environment, allowing participants to access engaging formats like teaser videos, podcasts, and quizzes, and earn digital badges upon completion. Additionally, a certificate can be issued after completing all 16 topics. In this example, digital credentials serve as tangible proof of the skills acquired, empowering women to showcase their capabilities in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
